The Opportunity:

Do you crave more impact in your role? Are you looking to accelerate your learning by joining an early-stage company going after a massive market opportunity?

Visor is a fast-growing company simplifying how people work together. Our product looks like a spreadsheet, but it syncs both directions with other data sources. It’s designed for people of all skill levels. There are no other products on the market that make it this easy to work in a spreadsheet with data from CRMs, project management software, and more. Our vision is to become the default place where people work together with information from everywhere.

In the last year, we ran an incredibly successful public product preview. Our innovative product earned praise from hundreds of users, and received substantial backing from world class investors. Now, we are rapidly expanding our team to pursue the massive opportunity in front of us.

The company was founded at Harvard. We’re backed by the same investors as Airbnb, Shopify, Zapier, Hubspot, and Warby Parker. Users from Blackstone, Amazon, Doordash, and dozens more have given Visor hearty acclaim.

Your role on our team will include substantial equity. You will be asked to think and act like a founder, and you will be treated as an owner.

Our Culture:

We are passionate product builders who believe that today’s problems require a fresh perspective. We love our users and are deeply inspired by them. Our team culture values entrepreneurship, positivity, integrity, and continuous learning. We deeply care for one another and believe that the strength of the individual powers the strength of the group.

Our company mission is to improve the way the world works. That means we want to improve how our customers do their work, and we also want to have a positive impact on the broader community. We are committed to leaving the world a better place than we found it. We seek to build a team that wants to give back to our communities.

Visor is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to a diverse workforce. We will consider all qualified candidates regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, marital status, personal appearance, sexual orientation, gender identity, family responsibilities, disability, education, political affiliation or veteran status.

The role:

You will report directly to the CEO and own design across our entire business strategy, including our product, our marketing materials, and our branding. Your primary responsibility will be the design and development of the company’s product. You should expect to have regular weekly interactions with users, including through your own research and ad-hoc interactions with customers.

Starting in the first month, you will take existing product requirements and deliver build-ready designs for the engineering team. By month three, you’ll take full ownership of our existing design system. And by month six, you will be partnering with the CEO to document the product requirements according to our roadmap plans.

After delivering designs for the engineering team to build, you will also be responsible for collaborating closely with the engineers to ensure the designs are executed to your specifications. That will include updating the design to account for unforeseen requirements and managing a visual QA process before the changes are released.

As a crucial bridge between customer problems and our product solution, you will engage regularly with customers through feedback sessions you schedule to deepen your empathy and understanding of their needs. You will also leverage our instrumentation within the product, including session replay technology and analytics, to identify frictions in the user experience and devise solutions.

You will:

  • Own the entire visual design for the company’s product, marketing, and brand
  • Develop, refine and maintain a consistent design system for our product development
  • Proactively find ways to engage with users to build empathy, understand user needs, and iterate on product designs
  • Convert product requirements into intuitive, beautiful designs that account for speed of build
  • Contribute meaningfully to our product roadmap based on your understanding of user needs
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering team to bring your designs to life
  • Implement and manage a visual QA process to ensure the engineers’ implementation matches ideal visual standards
  • Contribute to our ongoing functional QA process to identify product issues and help the engineering team resolve them
  • Lead design for our go-to-market strategies, including landing pages, display ads, and other media
  • Periodically create marketing materials for sales, marketing, and investor communications

You Are:

  • A product-minded designer who likes to understand how designs fit into the overall product strategy
  • Passionate about spending 1:1 time live with users to stay connected with their requirements
  • Committed to creating designs that balance beauty, usability, and buildability
  • Fundamentally interested in the problems Visor solves
  • Collaborative by nature and focused on the success of the team
  • Detail-oriented. To prove it, please include a sentence in your cover letter referencing this line and include this word: meticulous.

You Have:

  • 4+ years of UX design experience
  • A UX design portfolio of work that demonstrates years of shaping and shipping software products
  • Experience using design and prototyping tools to translate ideas into working products (we use Figma)

You’ll get these benefits:

  • Competitive salary
  • Generous equity
  • Health, Dental, and Vision insurance
  • Unlimited vacation days (with mandatory two weeks)
  • Generous budget for purchasing equipment to work from home
  • Semi-flexible work hours
  • Opportunity to work from home (and office, when safety allows)
  • Be a charter member of the founding team of a venture-backed company

This is a New York City-based position with flexibility to work from home. Until all team members feel it is safe for in-person meetings, we will remain fully remote.

At this stage, we are only able hire individuals who can work lawfully in the United States. We are not able to sponsor H-1B cases at this time or hire candidates without legal authorization to work in the United States.
